Only Elise plays MJ like this. But it seems that this lion of hers (nicknamed, Tissue) didn’t help her much!

In fact, she usually wins when it is out of sight.

I am still owing Boon a birthday pressie. Sorry brudder, cash tight lah! But I’ll make sure I get him one before my birthday so that he has got no reason to not give me mine! HA!

So, 21st birthday, how did you celebrated yours? Was the entire, ’21st’ birthday thing so hyped up that you just felt like getting it done with a dinner, or maybe a getaway. I planned to have a getaway session with some of my friends, but due to busy schedules lately, I simply have not executed any plans yet. Elaine, how!?!

Not sure if it is a good or bad thing that my birthday falls on a public holiday?

Last Saturday I had a gathering. Sometimes people just only gather during special occasions. Thanks to Boon’s birthday, I get to meet some old faces. Have they changed? Not a single bit. Neither do I, I guess.

    DSC_0976

Seriously we don’t look like we are 21. More like 18. I kept on telling Kenny of the benefits i have looking young, self persuading myself that it’s actually great to look young.

    DSC_0942

    Cheers to adulthood!

    DSC_0944

I had 3 glassful of shots and before was the usual kind of whisky, followed down by a mixture of housepour and black label. I don’t even know why I did that, I’d mistaken the housepour for sprite. EW!

And you know what my camera does best? – Camwhoring. It has this rotatable screen, good for various angles of capturing and of course, you can self-take! But one issue is, it is heavy to hold it steadily with one hand.

    DSC_0935

And my hair is so cooperative! Covers my jaw bone so well!

The more I’m writing this post, the more I felt that I’m writing a bimbo post. To cut the story short, we celebrated CBB’s birthday in the ‘highest’ and ‘happiest’ way it could be.

But all the ‘highness’ poof-ed during  our way back home. The cab drive literally knocked down a Trishaw with a passenger, right in front of four-eyed sight!. I bet he is even more drunk than I am! What I could remember was the Angmoh demanding the cab driver for compensation and said,” I am the rich man with the brief case, he (pointing to the old trishaw guy) is the poor man, pay him”. Something like that lah. Minor accident, cause that guy could still walk.

    What a night!

One day in office, the courier came. It was tickets for Kobe Bryant’s Asia Tour.  Before the campaign launches, I asked myself, “Who the heck is Kobe Bryant!?” I thought he is some famous Singer whom (as usual) I’m not aware of. A basketball fanatic would think I’m stupid. Apparently he is the MVP of NBA 2008. (and also a rapist – let’s forget about that)

On the actual day, I was supposed to give out tickets to the Nuffnangers at the indoor stadium. I was honestly the least interested to be there. But since I’ve got nothing on, I decided to tag along with Elaine and her friends.

    IMG_2680

We have some super enthu fans wearing his jersey. One of them is Josh, one of my fav Nuffnanger.

    IMG_2683

Me: “Eh, Josh.. You super outdated lah.. I thought Kobe Bryant is No. 24?”

Josh: “… This one is old one lahhhh…”

I’ve come prepared! Trying to act like one of his fans also. Tsk Tsk.

[Wanted to slot in the Nuffnangers photo here, but was super blurry!]

Apparently some china dolls came up to us and ask if we were selling tickets. We had like 2 extras, and it was so tempting, you know? Cos’ Ebay is selling it like what, 200 bucks?! In the end, we didn’t :)

Upon entering the stadium, there are two gigantic poster which our eyes couldn’t have missed.

    IMG_2687

    IMG_2688

    Cool shyt huh.

We had great seats inside, the 8th row from the front.

    IMG_2696

    Follow down by the Nuffnangers!

    IMG_2690

Right on the dot at 7:30pm, comes the arrival of the King of Basketball, Kobe Bryant. The surroundings were pitch black, but only with striking white light shooting right through this translucent piece, which had his purple name on it.

Behind emerged a shadow of a well-built man. It was Kobe Bryant! And the fans cheered their lungs out!

    IMG_2692

He began his talk about his tour in Asia, what he thinks of Singapore, his new product, so on and so forth. Then I’m was enjoying on my packet of Lays.

I thought, there are going to be some kind of match coming up next. But to my disappointment (others too), the entire ‘live’ thing was just him training a bunch of bballers, teaching them drills etc. All we do is watch him talk, do a tweeny bit of stuns. That’s all. It might be a great deal to have learnt something from him for the other fans on site. But definitely not worth the money if you have paid for it!

    IMG_2698

I only liked the last part where he threw hand-signed basketballs to the crowd, like 20 of em’. That’s when the crowd got the most hyped up!

It ended pretty early. And just like after NDP ended, no cabs were available and we had to squeeze ourselves up the buses.

That day was also the first time I got to meet Ariel.

    Till I blog again!

(I seriously need to complete my Tioman Post)
    img_2555

There we are at Coral Island! The waters there are much more clearer than Tioman itself. Isn’t it like swimming pool waters?

The beginners will start off practising their snorkelling skills at the shallow waters here, at this part of Coral Island.

    img_2540

    For Noobs like me!

    img_2542

    Kenny’s kuku center parting showing!

    img_2549

Let’s see what’s waiting for us in there!!

    1a

    1b

Woosh! Fishes fishes and more fishes!!!

Couldn’t describe the kinda feeling when I first dived my head in. It is soo beautiful! In fact seeing it real and not just fishing swarming by at your TV screen. I believe they are very immuned to humans already. They swim super fast and without touchin you an inch at all! We were literally swimming with the fishes!!!

As a noob, I woudn’t dare swim too far out as stablisation has not intialised till 100% yet! Super need Kenny by my side during my first experience.

    img_2552

We familiarise ourselves around the water and headed to our next destination soon enough.

    img_2558

We moved on to deeper water at the other side of Coral island.

The boat stopped at this place of no where. I was like, don’t tell me we are going to snorkel here…. Before I could ease my fear, Kenny dived in to the water and started his adventure..

    img_2564

His first words outta water was, “OMG the fishes!!!! There are millions of them!!”

    That made me really excited!!

    img_2565

    I’m all set and ready!

    img_2566

    img_2568

Snorkelling is really a great experience one should ever try in their lifetime! The underwater view is spectacular, you can never compare it to one you see on TV. Cos’ its totally different, totally.

Have fed the fishes with enough bread, and it’s our turn to be hungry!

We were brought to another village at the north of the island for our lunch. We had simple stuff like Pattaya fried rice, nth much to eat there but lotsa gritty nitty things to shop.

    IMG_2574

That’s our underwater camera, disposable tho. Am thinking of buying a chio permanent one.

After lunch, we headed to our last destination, Reggis Island, to snorkel.

    IMG_2578

    IMG_2579

Those white coloured dots are seagulls. It was such a beautiful sight..

We went from beginner to intermediate to advance snorkeling. And of course more fishes! At Reggis Island, it is way populated with Corals and I exceptionally love this blue coloured one. There I saw sea urchins too, all cluttered together and you can spot their thorns moving. I’ve spotted Squids too!

Now that we are “a-hem” abit more pro, we intent to snorkel round the island. I was quite worried, so I held on to Kenny’s hand while we swam. Under the water, all you can hear is your breathe and soft “ting ting ting” sounds from the waters.

I looked down and saw this mini shark at the sea bed. Before I can nudge Kenny, it’s gone. Until we reached the last quarter, we decided that we swim back as the current is rather strong at that end.

Din’t manage to take any photos as the camera was outta film.

This marks the end of our snorkeling trip. We got back to the hut, soaked in the bathtubs and dozed off in our bed until evening time.

The night life begins with our dinner at the same dining place. Went over to Tekek’s beach after that and finally found Canbana. Running that place were some hyped locals and Angmohs. I don’t feel really comfortable hanging out with them so we just sat at the beach, with our beer and dazed at the starry stars..

    *lousy camera couldn’t capture stars*

Until a while, we thought this is so not our thing. Left that place and went shopping for souvenirs for our colleagues.

Having done shopping, we bought some BBQ stuff from the locals. While waiting for the squid and fishes to be BBQ-ed, Kenny began making friends with the store owner. I have always wondered how can he just strike a conversation with strangers just like that. And if only I had that kinda skills.. Haha.

They became “so friend” that they are willing to ask their own son to ferry us back to Berjaya.

    IMG_2587

    The locals are so friendly!

We visited  a beach bar at Berjaya where they had great Pinoy singers and good entertainment.

    IMG_2593

During their intervals, there is another group of singers who will go table by table to sing for you.

    IMG_2595

    Cheers!

    IMG_2596

Wad a fun night we had. I staggered back to the room and could almost knocked out! Then, there Kenny gave an shocking expression. He said, ” I got a bad news, real real bad” I was like wtf?

    He lost his bloody wallet.

For the entire night, he walked to and fro the places we had been that night but still couldn’t find it. Had a tough night cos all our cash are inside. Hardly slept. Made police reports and notified the resort personnel. Kept praying and praying..

That was the kind of mood we had to leave  from this beautiful island the next morning. Luckily we still had 50 ringgit with us to last the day.

At the jetty the next day, some naughty kids threw bread into the water and here comes..

    IMG_2613

    THE FISHES!!! Haha..

Though this trip ended pretty bad, it was overall a great experience and I totally love the place. I would want to visit this remarkable island again, and the next time round, I would probably do hiking, visit the waterfall and to other places that I’ve never been to.

    Till then Tioman!!

    *******

Two days later while on our way to church, we were telling Kenny’s mum how the wallet got lost and then came a phone call from Tioman! They said the wallet was found!!! Someone returned it. What’s most surprising is that the money was intact, nothing went missing! Amazing.

Was wondering why is this so?

    1) We have scanned through the place like a bazillion times.
    2) It was 100% nt in the hut (have realised it was gone when he just stepped inside)
    3) If someone found it, and why he has to return it like days after?
    4) If someone stole it, then why return?

    Could it be…

    IMG_2603

The cats!? LOL. Look at their scheming eyes!!!

    But anyway thank God!! :)

    Jun 28

We had plans to wake up early the next day. It was great and refreshing to be waking up facing the sea..

    img_2507

    At its low tide!

We woke up at 6:30, prepared ourselves and headed over for our complimentary breakfast.

As it is still early, we took a morning walk along the beach. It is funny to see that all the hermit crabs had gone to hiding, as you can see many tiny holes in the sand.

    img_2511

Stones and coral debris at the seabed..

    img_2508

    img_25161

Near 9pm we were already waiting outside the sports recreational counter at Berjaya. The person incharge was nowhere to be found. After waiting for quite some time, I decided that we head over to Tekek village in search for Cabana sports club ( A famous one that I know of thru the web).

Tho I heard of its name, I’m not sure of its exact location. From where we have alighted, we chose to head north as the long stretch of road ahead of us seems more promising. More houses = more chances right?

We checked on the prices from some mini sports club along the way. The thing about these snorkeling trip is that if you have more people on the same boat, the price for per pax will be cheaper. And of course if there are only the two of us, it would be  much more expensive!! Not sure if we were too early or what, there aren’t any tourists around to share the boat with us! What?  Saturday morning and nobody wanna go snorkelling? :( The prices are way out of our budget, so we decided to continue walking…….. and still in search of Cabana (which is nowhere to be found)..

Took some beautiful pictures along the way..

    img_2519

    img_2525

    img_2526

I believe the water is clearer at northern part of the island!

As we continue walking, we saw some chickens by the road. This may sound stupid, but both of us were afraid of going near them. Due to the fact that we were chased by kampong chickens before. For my case, it is those long neck ones! Super fierce. Hahahaha..

But anyway thanks to the cooling weather, we could continue walking along the seaside until we reached the end..of Tekek Village. Still, no Canbana!! So obviously we chose the wrong way to go. The locals there don’t seem to know their island well too. They love pointing wrong directions -.-

It wasn’t disappointing afterall as we have landed ourselves to Marine Park, one of the attractions!

    img_2531

If you are wondering why is Kenny smiling to himself, this is the reason why!!

    img_2529

Overwhelming right? This is not the bomb yet! In Singapore’s waters we can’t even see a single thang!

At this moment, we saw a chartered boat coming to us from far! Coincidentally, Marine park is the first stop of their trip. We asked if we could come on board and the friendly people welcome us in! The guide charged us RM100 for 2 pax! So bloody cheap!!

    img_2535

And off we go! To Coral Island!!! :)

Stay tuned for part 3!! More stunning pictures to come!!

    Jun 26

To those who were not aware of, I was on a seaside vacation overseas, last weekend (The reason why I missed Flash Mob)! Before I continue, I shall warn you to bear with my emotions.. Hahahahhaha!

This trip to Tioman was much awaited. Kenny and I knew we were going somewhere special to celebrate that special time of the year. Never thought that this trip could be so much of a roller coaster ride. Filled with overwhelming emotions and unforgettable thoughts! We enjoyed every bits of minutes, cherished every significant moments spent at this get-away island off South China Sea.

Before the journey even started, our excitment shrunk after realising that we slept over the timing to board on the 6am coach to Mersing (Malaysia). This could be one of the worst things to happen. In any case, we managed to catch another timing for another coach svc @ 9am. Only to reach Mersing at 1:30pm.

Bluewater Ferry’s timing is really terrible and not punctual at all!

    img_2410

We have to wait for duper long before we could board. At times like this, Kenny’s iPhone’s battery were exhausted several times due to such waiting. (iPhone has the best mobile games ever!!)

Spot this cute little boy on the ferry!

    img_2417

    img_2418

We  board on the ferry @ 2:30 and only to reach Tioman @4pm. We were so way behind schedule, what’s worse is that we have wasted the day on travelling :(

Kenny shook me up from my nap and the next thing i know is that we were reaching soon (after 1hr45mins ride)! He was really bouncing with excitment and exclaimed, “Look at the waters! It is sooooo clear!”.

    img_2423

This was a photo taken from the Jetty, you can see the seabed from top – deep waters! This is how clear the water is. But the best is yet to come!

We then settled down at Berjaya, checked in and headed over to our cosy little hut!

    img_2425

Look at him! Reaching out for the skiessssss..

As we were searching through and following the room numbers eventurally leading to 510, we were sooooo estatic to find out that what’s in store for us is a SEA VIEW ROOM!!

WE WERE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED that I immediately SMS Elise (Alice)! Cos’ previously I received news that there were no seaview left and I was duper disappointed.

    Peektures peektures and more peektures!

    img_2429

    img_2430

The next time I’m visiting, I will take 2 rooms next to ours. Better view!

    img_2427

    img_2518

Lastly a picture of our cosy room!

    img_2432

Kenny being such a natural lover, can’t wait to dive into the crystal clear waters to rejuvenate himself!! That is the first thing he hoped to do! As soon as we have settled down, we were by the beach! The cooling sea-breeze ran passed our skins and we could hear the waves surged calmly over the fine sand..

    That is him, faraway..

    That is him, faraway..

A small debri of a dead coral :(

A small debri of a dead coral :(

This is something different. On many other beaches in the world, you may often find seashells on the sand but in Tioman, you find lotsa lotsa dried up corals been washed up to the shore. You can image the amount of corals deep down this ocean.

Kenny can’t wait to get himself wet!

    img_2437

Though I love the scenic and beautiful sea, I was phobatic at the thought of the creatures underneath it.

    img_2440

From the look of this picture, you can see that I’m a lil afraid of getting deeper.

Whereas actually, you can see your feet from where I’m standing.. Okay, I’m just paranoid :S

    img_2444

Took some shots from thigh level..

    img_2443

That is our hut I’m pointing at!

    img_2445

    Reggis Island from far!

    img_2449

There he goes, deeper and deeper. I’m stuck..

    img_2451

    img_24521

Since we have reached Tioman during late afternoon, we thought might as well relax ourselves and explore the vicinity. There were shuttle services driving travellers to and fro different places at Berjaya. We hopped to one without asking its destination. Soon, we found ourselves  at the jetty.

A gush of wind swipped onto us and I can tell you that is the strongest wind I ever felt. It lasted for quite long and if I didn’t stand still, it could literally blew me away. No joke!

    img_2466

    img_24631

    img_2464

Spotted this beautiful villa built on a hill. Rental could be really expensive!

    img_2462

I didn’t manage to really capture superbly beautiful sunset pictures, but just a glimpse or two.

    img_2474

    img_2478

The enjoyment has only began when the evening draws near!

And so is time for dinner! We decided that since there are no free transport to ferry us to Tekek (the most populated village), we shall go by foot. Before that, we have geared each of us with a can of  Tiger beer, with STRAW. Kenny feels that there will be more ‘kick’ using straw.

    untitled-1

That left image is duper blurry :( No way to rectify it.

By the way, duty free beer is soooooo cheap there! OMG. RM 2.50 per can! Needless to say, we stock up for the night :)

On our way out from Berjaya, we came across some vigorous monkeys. They are damn fierce and got me really terrified. We decided to take an alternative road.

Dinner was at a chinese coffeehouse. Ordered fabulous food, including my all time favourite Tie Ban Tofu and super fresh Qi Xing Ban (Seven Star Garoupa). All these in affordable prices, never will you get it in Singapore! With additional beer on the go!

    img_2489

With our bloaty stomach, we shopped the nearby stores. Managed to get us an underwater camera for our Snorkelling trip tomorrow at this, what they call as the biggest departmental store in Tioman. Duty-free as well! It is at the size of a bit bigger than Econ minimart.

Bought some snacks and went back to our lil hut!

It was pitched dark by then. We relaxed at the platform, drank beers, watch DVD – I brought my laptop thinking I might check my mails. But when I was there, I didn’t even do any work! (Fortunate to have helpful colleagues to assist me!)

    img_2499

The liquor took over from here :)

Day 2 – To Be Continued..

    Jun 15

    [Pictures Post]

Last A bazillion Sundays ago, I was supposed to collect the Flyer tickets at 10am. As usual, I didn’t woke up even tho the alarm clock blasted my ear drums! In the end, my brother had to collect on my behalf. Hahahaha!

The skies were covered with dark gloomy clouds in the morning and I thought Family day could be busted due to the weather. Fortunate enough, they dispersed and the sun finally greeted us! Then, we continued with our schedule..

Following down will be just photos, photos and more photos!!

I thought it was a great experience to have try this out for at least once. Of course it would be great if it was night time, isn’t it?

    May 29
Yesterday our colleague, David, visited us from ‘Aussie land’. The Nuffies brought him for lunch at Boon Tong Kee – Balestier, which is very near our workplace. Later in the evening, we brought him to East Coast Park to enjoy some local food. He seems to love Satay a lot and that is also the first time he has actually eaten a Stingray!

And seriously, in what way is a Durian associated with an angmoh?

    Photobucket
We were at a famous durian stall along Balestier road just opposite my house!

We ordered one bitter-sweet durian for try-out.

You know when we chinese refer to a particular food which we don’t like to eat, sometimes we would say “????” (I don’t know how to eat). But you know that isn’t the literal meaning. It’s just ‘don’t like to eat’. But for David, it is literally – “I don’t know how to eat”!

He couldn’t decide where to place his fingers at.

Do I use my fingers? He asked. Yes, we answered. Then, he had his first physical touch at the durian flesh, he exclaimed, “ohh, it’s soft!“. Then he couldn’t decide how to hold it! But we have HW here to teach him!

    Photobucket

    Photobucket

He said it was difficult to describe that kinda feeling. It wasn’t detestable, it wasn’t fantastic. I guess it is afterall not a caucasian thing. LOL!

    Photobucket

After this, we headed a few blocks away to Quality Hotel’s lounge for some beer! You wouldn’t wanna know the kind of stuff we were talking about after the liquor took control of our brains!

    Look at tomato Elise!

I’m back back back back back from Nuffnang Music Bash ‘09, KL.

    Photobucket

    Photobucket

    Photobucket

    Photobucket

Towards the end of the partay, MC Liang on the other side was announcing winners and at one crazy corner, there’re 3 crazy biatches (no, actually 2 but poor Vernice got pulled in just because she is passing by) were dancing as if they are high on drugs! LOL check it out!

Scroll the bar to 0:35 secs (The group at the start is not us!)

As you can see at the end, we don’t know what to do.. that we just gotta play with the feathers.. LOL!! I know.. its pretty awful, but we had fun.. Its crazy.

    *******

One day before the Nuffnangers rock the actual party, the nuffies had an “internal party” at TGIF’s to celebrate Vernice’s birthday. I knew my choice of food would definitely be the Ribeye steak! The favourable exchange rate is perfect, and I wouldn’t mind splurging just for food! This KL trip made me feel guilty at the fact that I’ve been over eating!

When I saw Tim, I handed over a present Ming had brought all the way from the “motherland” (Old Trafford). A Man U tee with the name Boss Stewie sewed at the back!

Towards the end of the dinner while we were having fun and laughter, I felt a gentle pull at the back of my sleeve. When I turned back, Carol started whispering into my ears.. It was so soft, all that I could hear was..

“Vernice’s sister is coming.. stay on for a while more” (Some sort like this lah)

Then, I was told to pass on the message to the next person beside me and so it continued..

Few mins later, Vernice was asked to stand on a chair and we sang her a bday song.

I guess somebody starts clarifying about Vernice’s sister cos’ that took quite some time… and it came to a realisation that the message passed down was totally WRONG! Originally it was supposed to be..

    “Vernice’s desert is coming..”

Damn it, I BROKE THE CHAIN! HAHAHAHAHA. That’s how its like when a message was passed down by so many people.

While we waited for the bill, someone suggested we play the “passing-message game”.

TRUST ME. A totally logical and normal sentence could eventually be twisted into a nonsensical structure with sexual implicit! 3 tries and it turns out to be like this! And obviously some of them try to be funny and twisted it purposely! I wanted to give examples but my memory is failing me already. It’s just so funny!

I told Kenny of what happened at TGIF. He said something which is very true. Out of all the fun we had of that game, it lies a morale. That explains how RUMORS got worsen when mouths multiplied.

Lastly, let me present you with a himbo picture of YH trying very hard to curl his lashes with my curler.

    Photobucket

Can see that he is trying very hard to impress Robb. (Just kidding!)
